FIRST AID TRAINING 

Outdoor (Forest Schools) 16 Hour Paediatric First Aid Course. 

All of our First Aid courses can be delivered for those outdoor practitioners or group leaders who require it. 
 
Who is this qualification for? 
 
Our standard qualifications have been tailored to meet the requirements of outdoor practitioners such as Forest School Leaders, youth organisations who attend camping events etc. All training can be adapted to meet your specific needs, whilst maintaining the mandatory requirements for certification. 
 
The course meets all requirements of outdoor and Forest School teaching providers and meets the statutory requirements under Ofsted and EYFS for Paediatric First Aid. 
 
To meet the Paediatric First Aid and Forest School requirements, Adult, Child and infant first aid will be included. 
 
Where and When? 
 
The course can be delivered at your venue on a date suitable to your needs. We could source a suitable venue on your behalf and also run several open courses at our own venues. 
 
Assessment method 
 
This qualification is assessed by a practical demonstration and written/oral questioning. There is no final exam 
Successful candidates will receive a Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid certificate valid for 3 years. Under current guidelines it is recommended that all First Aid Training is refreshed and updated annually. 
 
 
How long will it take? 
 
2 Days (16 hours) of tutor led learning. 
The course is 16 hours and is in line with the requirements of other outdoor national governing bodies and the qualification is valid for 3 years. 
 
Topics covered 
 
The course covers the role and responsibilities of the outdoor paediatric first-aider including: 
Outdoor First aid kits and contents, 
Providing first aid to a casualty who is unresponsive and breathing normally or not breathing normally, 
Providing first aid to a casualty who has a major bleed or burn, 
Who has a foreign body airway obstruction, 
With head and spinal injuries, 
Who has sustained an electric shock, 
How to complete records relating to illnesses, injuries and emergencies, 
The safe use of a defibrillator and Improvising First aid and casualty evacuation.

East of England Training prides itself in delivering a true outdoor training experience. The course is fully interactive with minimal use of presentation aids and is delivered completely outdoors in your Forest environment (Extreme wet weather program can be introduced).
